Most CS2 promo codes are referral codes, and on several sites they add nothing to the starting offer the site already gives everyone.
On CSGORoll and Key-Drop the site’s own help pages describe one mechanic for every valid code. On Hellcase and CSGOEmpire a starting bonus exists with no code at all. On SkinSwap the free-item tiers do not appear to depend on the code, judging by the dialog. On DMarket and Lis-Skins we found no code bonus for the buyer.
What a code changes is mostly who is credited for the invitation. That is why lists of “working” CS2 case opening promo codes tell you little. The useful question is what a site gives with a code and what it gives without one.
How we verify. We read the rules, help pages, cashier and code field of each site on 29 Sep 2026. On 1 Oct 2026 we entered our code on every site that has a code field and never paid: seven sites accepted it. We did not record the wagering or other conditions of what the sites credit, so we do not rate any promo above 3.5. The table shows what each site or its partner program says it gives, marked “according to the site” because we did not measure it ourselves. We made no deposit.
Nine sites: what a code gives and what the site gives without one
| Site | Our code | With a referral or creator code | Without a code | Check in the terms | Checked | Review |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CSGORoll | our code: accepted under Rewards, Free tab, Account Rewards, 1 Oct 2026 | 3 free cases and 5% on top-ups by card, bank transfer or crypto, capped at $100 per day (according to the site); one code stays linked to the account | +10% on the first top-up up to 2,000 coins and 6 free cases, no code needed (according to the site) | Whether 10% and 5% stack: not found. Banner (10% + 6 cases) and code (5% + 3 cases) differ. Coins: no wagering in the usual sense; Chips are redeemable for crypto after a 1x playthrough of Roll Coins (terms of 12 Aug 2026). Min. card top-up: 10 coins | 29 Sep 2026 | /casinos/csgoroll/ |
| Key-Drop | our code: “Promocode activated”, +20% on every amount, 1 Oct 2026 | +20% on every top-up if you apply the code first, plus an extra $1 once (help centre, 19 May 2026); the partner states $0.50 | We found no starting bonus without a code | Bonus cap, wagering, eligible methods: not found. The code goes in the Deposit tab before every top-up. Min. skin deposit: $2 | 29 Sep 2026 | /casinos/key-drop/ |
| Farmskins | our code: checked on 1 Oct 2026, about $1 on the balance and +10% on the next deposit; refused on Steam level 0 | Creator Code: a fixed $0.90, $0.95 or $1.00 on the first deposit, by the partner’s tier (according to the site) | Method bonuses in the cashier: +3% by card via Ecommpay, +5% Kinguin gift cards, +10% skins via Skin2Pay (according to the site) | Min. deposit $5 on every method. Wagering, cap, expiry: not found. Stacking of method bonuses with the code: not checked | 29 Sep 2026 | /casinos/farmskins/ |
| Hellcase | our code: “Activated, 10% for deposit” in the deposit window on 1 Oct 2026 | +10% on the first three deposits, +7% on the fourth, +5% on later ones (affiliate rules, according to the site) | A default first-deposit code is already filled in: +10% on the first deposit | Min. deposit $5. The FAQ caps the referral bonus at $100 ($150 for Premium) and allows a code once. Wagering, expiry: not found, so we do not call it wager-free. Rules and interface describe the bonus differently | 29 Sep 2026 | /casinos/hellcase/ |
| CSGOEmpire | our code: accepted on 1 Oct 2026 | The partner states a free case with a top-up of up to $1,500 (not measured by us); 1 Gift Case, which by our reading is the same case the registration banner gives | 1 free case at registration, no code (according to the site) | No first-deposit bonus found. Case value in money: not shown. Wagering: not found. The help centre says the free case asks for the referral code when opened, so the banner case and the code case are one case | 29 Sep 2026 | /casinos/csgoempire/ |
| Tradeit.gg | our code: coupon accepted on 1 Oct 2026 | One coupon per account, only before your first trade. The partner states $5 on the first trade plus 35% on a top-up or a shop discount, once (not measured by us) | Cashier deposit bonuses: +40% cards and local methods, +45% BTC, ETH, USDT, +35% Kinguin, none for PayPal (no end date shown) | A third-party coupon we entered on 29 Sep 2026 was accepted but the balance stayed $0; our own coupon was accepted on 1 Oct 2026. Trade Balance cannot be withdrawn. Wagering: not found. Crypto deposit min. $25 | 29 Sep 2026 | /marketplaces/tradeit/ |
| DMarket | Referral link only; a hand-entered code gave nothing | No public code found. Our referral link pays us a commission; a hand-entered code gave nothing and the buyer gets no discount | Nothing found | No fee discount or first-trade bonus found. Deposited USD cannot be withdrawn, only sales proceeds. Min. deposit $1 | 29 Sep 2026 | /marketplaces/dmarket/ |
| SkinSwap | our code: accepted on 1 Oct 2026 | The partner states a free skin up to $50 (terms visible only after sign-up). Claim Free Item by trading volume: $10 gives up to $1, $50 up to $7.50, $100 up to $20, $250 up to $50 (according to the site) | With no code the dialog suggests a default one; the tiers do not appear to depend on the code | “Up to” is a ceiling. Which operations count as volume: not checked. A $5 first-trade bonus appears in marketing but not in the product. Min. deposit: not found | 29 Sep 2026 | /marketplaces/skinswap/ |
| Lis-Skins | Referral link only | No promo codes found. A referral link exists; the referrer gets 2% of the invited user’s sales | Nothing found; what an invited user gets: not found | Deposits cannot be withdrawn, only spent on skins. Min. crypto deposit from $0.01 (USDT) | 29 Sep 2026 | /marketplaces/lis-skins/ |
Affiliate links on this page: we may earn a commission if you sign up through them, and your terms do not change. The “Our code” column shows the date we entered the code on a test account; the offers in the other columns are the sites’ or partners’ own descriptions.
How to activate a promo code on a CS2 site
The steps are the same everywhere. Only the location of the code field changes.
- Sign in first. Key-Drop, Farmskins and SkinSwap accept Steam sign-in only. Have a public inventory and your trade URL (the link that lets a site send you trade offers) ready.
- Find the code field before you pay. Where we saw it: a Creator Code field on every Farmskins top-up page, a “Use coupon” button in the Tradeit.gg profile, a Referral Code field in the CSGOEmpire registration form and profile settings, the Claim Free Item button on the SkinSwap trade page, and a default code already filled in the Hellcase deposit window. Where the field sits on CSGORoll and Key-Drop we did not record.
- Enter the code before your first deposit or first trade. Tradeit.gg accepts a coupon only before the first trade. On the other sites we found no rule for entering a code afterwards.
- Read the percentage or reward in the cashier before you confirm the payment.
- Keep your first code. CSGORoll links one code to an account permanently, and Tradeit.gg takes one code per account. For the rest we found no rule either way. If a field is pre-filled, check whose code it is: on CSGORoll the sign-up window opened with someone else’s code in it, and that code proved inactive.
Why a promo code does not work
1. The account is not new, or the code came too late. The CSGORoll terms are written for an invited player, Farmskins pays its reward as a bonus on the first deposit, and Tradeit.gg wants the coupon before the first trade. After a deposit or a trade a code often has nothing left to attach to.
2. The payment method is not covered. The CSGORoll code’s 5% applies to cards, bank transfer and crypto, not to skins or gift cards. Farmskins ties its bonuses to methods (+3%, +5% or +10%), and only some methods carry one.
3. Your country or account is blocked. CSGORoll closes 32 countries completely and Farmskins six. CSGOEmpire lists 31 entries and applies them to the country of your card too. Tradeit.gg and DMarket bar sanctioned jurisdictions, Russia and Belarus among them.
Access can also go from the account side: our Hellcase test account was auto-banned after we signed in through a VPN from another country.
4. Steam is not ready. Farmskins withdrawal needs at least one deposit, a public inventory, no VAC ban and a working trade URL. SkinSwap needs a public inventory, a trade URL and a confirmed email. Check these before you deposit.
5. The banner promises more than the terms. The CSGORoll main page shows 10% and 6 cases, while the code gives 5% and 3 cases. The site treats them as two offers and does not say how they relate. On Hellcase the rules give +10% on the first three deposits, but a default code we saw in the interface showed +10% on all deposits. We go by the rules.
Read the numbers in the cashier, not the banner.
A code is a contract, not free money
A bonus is a condition attached to your money. The condition that matters most is wagering: how many times you must play a bonus before it can leave the site. We can state it for one site only.
On CSGORoll the answer depends on the currency. Roll Coins (deposit bonus, code cases) cannot be cashed out as money and may carry “content requirements”, according to the rules. Roll Chips (crypto deposits, rain, rakeback) convert to crypto only if they were won in games played with Chips, after Roll Coins have been wagered once (1x).
On Hellcase, Key-Drop, Farmskins, CSGOEmpire and Tradeit.gg we found no wagering requirement, cap or expiry stated, and we do not read that as “no wagering”. On DMarket and Lis-Skins the catch is different: money you deposit cannot be withdrawn, only spent on skins.
Size matters too. A fixed $1 on a $5 Farmskins deposit is 20%, and on $100 it is 1%. The CSGORoll code’s 5% on a $100 top-up is $5. Work out the amount before you chase a code.
FAQ

Can I use two codes?
Usually not. CSGORoll links one code to an account permanently and Tradeit.gg takes one per account. Elsewhere we found no rule, and we did not test stacking on any site.
Do codes expire?
We found no expiry stated for the referral offers on Hellcase, Key-Drop or Farmskins, which is not the same as no expiry. Tradeit.gg shows no end date for its deposit bonuses, so they may be temporary. Every row above carries the date we checked it. An older date is a reason to recheck.
Why does my code say invalid?
Most likely one of the five reasons above: another code is already linked, the account is not new, you entered it after a deposit or trade, or your country is excluded. A code copied from a list may also simply be inactive.
Are all referral codes the same?
Where the site describes it, yes. CSGORoll and Key-Drop describe one mechanic for every valid code, and CSGOEmpire’s referral case matches its registration case. Farmskins has partner tiers, but they differ by $0.10. What differs is who is credited for the invitation.
Do you publish codes you did not test?
No. Only our own codes are listed, each entered on a test account on 1 Oct 2026. On 29 Sep 2026 we also entered one third-party coupon on Tradeit.gg. The site said it was applied, but the balance stayed $0, so we do not publish it. We do not copy codes from other lists.
